Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept

The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is a crossover concept which will make its world debut next week at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The concept is very much what you’d expect from Audi lately. Clean, sharp lines, but a slightly soulless character which has crept its way into some of their most recent designs. It’s also packing a couple of the company’s trademark technologies; namely a quattro all-wheel-drive system and an e-tron powertrain.
The concept measures in at 13.78 feet long – roughly 7 inches shorter than the Audi Q3, and rides on multi-spoke 19-inch wheels.
Audi haven’t gone into specifics about the Allroad Shooting Brake’s e-tron drivetrain, however the fact it’s wearing an e-tron badge means there’s an electric motor in there somewhere. But the dual rear tailpipes also tell us there’s an internal combustion engine of some sort too. Basically, it’s a hybrid.
There’s some speculation that the Allroad Shooting Brake concept previews some of the design features of the next-generation TT. While other rumors suggest the vehicle provides the template for a two-door version of the Q1 – due to arrive in 2016. Until Audi makes clears that up, the internets will continue to debate.
